Scouts is the third section in the Scout Group following on from Cubs, aged 10½-14 years, and meet between 7.00-8.30pm on a Tuesday. As a Scout you will learn to work with others in a team, build and develop your confidence and independence, develop your sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as exploring your beliefs and attitudes and occasionally getting creative. You will be able to take part in a wide range of activities including traditional Scouting skills, such as hiking, camping, survival and cooking, as well as a wider spectrum of adventurous activities and trips abroad.
The Scout Troop is divided into small groups called Patrols, each headed up by older Scouts called Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders. We have four patrols: Peewits, Stags, Tigers and Wolves.
As a Scout you will get the chance to earn a number of badges and awards including Activity badges and Challenge badges. The highest award in Scouts is the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.
